Thank you Change Philanthropy! Our CommunityBuild Ventures’ President & CEO, Natasha Harrison, recently attended the 2019 Change Unity Summit. In addition, CommunityBuild Ventures was a proud sponsor. While there she and the team learned strategies for utilizing power to advance philanthropic equity. Change-makers gathered in heart wrenching and progressive conversations. The collective energy was indicating that we, as a people, are powerful enough to create the change we seek toward racial equity.
Check out the awesome photos below of some leaders Natasha met while there:
- Storme Gray is the Interim Executive Director of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy
- Ruth LaToison Ifill is the Council’s Vice President of Culture, Talent, & Equity- we worked to provide healing and emotional self care for their HR Summit
- Kathleen Healy is a Philanthropy Associate at First Interstate Bank look forward to working together in Montreal.
- Black women social justice and philanthropic leaders gathered together for an awe inspiring dinner organized by Tynesha McHarris,Program Officer at NoVo Foundation.
The general feeling in the room was gratitude and the confirmation that we are not alone. The space was affirming for black women to stay the course while recognizing they were on the front line of protection for those who are organizing for change. With a sold out event of more than 800 leaders, what we know for certain, everyone left the summit prepared to both improve and continue our work. Thank you Change Philanthropy
